1. General Event Requirements and Application
1.1. Registrations must be received by 5pm, Monday 4 September 2023.
1.2. Participation in the Parade is voluntary. There is no entry fee to participate in the Parade, nor is there any payment for participating.
1.3. The Christmas Parade is a family event and any inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.
1.4. A minimum of two people per group is advised, the maximum group size is 50 people.
1.5. The Parade will start at 5.30pm with the final parade route to be advised closer to the date. The parade will finish in front of Memorial Park with the last group arriving approximately 6.30pm.
1.6. All participating groups will be required to meet on the day at 5pm at the Parade Muster Point. Instructions will be emailed to you approximately two weeks prior to the event. An event briefing will be provided the week of the event on Tuesday 28 November, 5pm.
1.7. The Parade order is determined by the City and is to be adhered to. The City has the right of refusal for latecomers.
1.8. Groups are NOT to stop or overtake another group along any point in the parade route, unless requested by an authorised City of Armadale staff member.
1.9. The City reserves the right in its sole discretion to exclude any registrations from the parade.
1.10. Participating groups will hold their own Public Liability Insurance and a copy be provided with the registration form. The insurance must be current and with a reputable insurer, and provide coverage for no less than $10,000,000.
1.11. Participating groups must comply with all prescribed legislation including City of Armadale Local Laws.
1.12. Participation is at your own risk and participants indemnify the City of Armadale against personal injury, damage, loss and theft.
1.13. It is the responsibility of the authorised person submitting this registration form to ensure that all participants in the group, or their parent/guardian, are aware of these Terms and Conditions and are willing to comply.
2. Occupational Health and Safety
2.1. Please respect the other participating groups and be sure to leave adequate distance between yourselves and them.
2.2. For the safety of all participants, no vehicles will be permitted into the 2023 Christmas Parade aside for Santa’s sleigh.
2.3. The following activities are prohibited during the parade: use of naked flame or sparklers; throwing of glitter or confetti; spraying or squirting water; consumption of alcoholic beverages or any form of smoking or vaping; use of any items made of glass; and releasing balloons.
2.4. Please refrain from throwing any object such as lollies, flyers or merchandise. Should you want to distribute these items please ensure you pass these objects into spectator’s hands.
2.5. Participants must comply with the conditions and instructions set and given to them by the City of Armadale Staff organising the Parade and the volunteer marshals.
3. Marketing and Promotion
3.1. By participating in the Parade all participants give consent to images being taken of the Parade and its participants to be used by the City of Armadale for promotional purposes.
3.2. Groups are encouraged to utilise their involvement in the Parade as a promotional opportunity of their group, however promotional activities must be listed in your Registration Form and must be approved by the City.
