The purpose of the Advisory group is to provide a forum where representatives of multicultural communities can provide ideas and suggestions to the City, and participate in community projects as we work towards a more inclusive and cohesive community. The group will consist of up to 17 Multicultural community members, leaders and service providers, plus a City of Armadale representative.
Group objectives are to:
- Build a stronger sense of community identity;
- Increase community participation of culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) communities;
- Promote mutual understanding and collaboration amongst CaLD communities;
- Provide opportunity for creativity, innovation and adaptability in our City;
- Build the capacity of CaLD community members to access available mainstream support.
The City of Armadale supports the advisory group with facilities for meetings, administrative support and updates on CaLD-specific issues and opportunities arising in the City.
Membership Criteria
Membership is invited from:
- Multicultural community leaders living in the City of Armadale or leaders who support the City of Armadale's multicultural community;
- Multicultural passionate individuals (aged 18 years & over) who live within the City of Armadale;
- Multicultural service providers that service the City of Armadale's multicultural community.
Membership term is for up to two years and applicants should be available to attend regular monthly meetings on a Monday evening.
Completed application forms must be submitted to the City of Armadale by 5pm Monday 3 March 2025. Any questions can be directed to the Community Development Team on (08) 9394 5651.
Successful applicants will be advised by Monday 10 March 2025 and invited to attend the March meeting being held on 31 March 2025 at 6pm. If unable to attend the March meeting, successful applications must attend the next meeting held on 28 April 2025 at 6pm.
